21st Century Skills

All Big Bad Boo shows and curriculum materials are developed to promote and teach 21st Century Skills, including Executive Function, Social Emotional Learning (tightly tied to CASELs SEL Standards), UNICEF Life Skills and Big Bad Boo’s own Civic Education Framework. Outside of 21st Century Skills, we also develop shows and curricula that promote Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Skills.

When developing shows and curriculum materials, all of our shows are developed by award-winning creatives and subject matter experts, including childhood development psychologists and curriculum and literacy/numeracy experts, so our shows are not only highly entertaining but also rock solid in how they teach specific skills that make children happier, healthier and better prepared for the future.

In addition to being broadcast on major networks in over 100 countries and 40 languages, we use our shows as the basis of curricula that use animated episodes as a springboard for discussions and activities. Our curricula are used by over 2 million students in over 15 countries in schools and learning centers by educational institutions, ministries of education and UNICEF to teach 21st Century Skills and Literacy and Numeracy in a fun and engaging way. Because our curricula include extensions for parental engagement, they teach 21st Century Skills in the classroom and home, thereby covering two of the four learning contexts of CASEL’s SEL framework (the classroom and the home).
