Audiovisual from Spain, umbrella brand ICEX Spain Export and Investment for the international promotion of the Spanish film and television industry, returns to MIPCOM Cannes 2026 with an extensive program of activities and a stand which will allow for the proposal of a delegation made up of representatives of more than 50 companies.

One more year, the Spanish participation will combine the stand usual intended for displays in Riviera 7 (booth R7.J11) and an exclusive area within the MIP Creative Hub, with the aim of promoting the co-production, the financing and the generation of international alliances. With about 11,000 estimated participants and more than 3,300 buyers, MIPCOM Cannes is presented as one of the main global meeting points for content distribution.

The program of activities organized by Audiovisual from Spain starts on Tuesday the 13th with the presentation of the report prepared by GECA “Spanish Fiction 2026: between new stories and new seasons”, which will take place in the ICEX space within the MIP Creative Hub at 10:30. The session will feature the participation of Glory Hall, director of Production and Content Consulting at GECA, who will analyze how the gender transversality and the thematic hybridization have given rise to fiction productions with new unique stories, while the new seasons demonstrate the value of the IPs already created.

The next day, 9:30 a 10:30, the same space will host a co-production meeting Canada-Spain. The initiative will take the format of matchmaking one-to-one, putting Spanish and Canadian production companies in contact with projects of any genre and format interested in exploring real opportunities for international collaboration and co-production. The Canadian delegation is made up of companies ACT Average, Big Bad Boo Studios, Groupe Fair-Play, Reign Films, Rezolution Pictures y Truth Movies, while, on the Spanish side, they participate Honestree Island, Hurray TV, Morgana Studios y Vertigo Films.

The meeting takes on special relevance after the recent signing within the framework of the Toronto International Film Festival, from the new Audiovisual Coproduction Treaty between Spain and Canada, which replaces the bilateral framework in force since 1985. This new agreement extends the concept of co-production to cinematographic, television or video works, regardless of their duration or genre, and also allows the participation of third country producers.
