Literacy & Numeracy

We make learning numbers and letters fun! Programs to teach alphabets in multiple languages include ABC with Kenny G (English and French), Alif Beh Peh (Urdu), and Isla Maganda (Filipino).

ABC with Kenny G includes animated songs, each of which teach a letter of the alphabet or phonics. It was created in both English and French. To help teach children the Urdu alphabet, we developed and implemented an animated song called Alif Beh Peh. The song was tested in villages in Punjab and Sindh where illiteracy rates exceeded 90%. While teachers observed that most students took up to 1.5 years to learn the alphabet, those who used our song learned their alphabets in three weeks. Isla Maganda (Beautiful Island), is an animated series developed specifically for the Philippines. We created a series that represents the diversity of Filipino culture through its setting, characters and storylines. Accompanied by a curriculum of lessons focused on vocabulary, literal comprehension, measurement, counting and patterns, among others, Isla Maganda is available in both radio and television format.
