Broadcasters ICI TV, SRC Radio-Canada, TFO, and Oznoz have commissioned the new original animated preschool mini-series.
Big Bad Boo Studios announced the official greenlight for Season 5 of their original animated preschool mini-series “Lili & Lola”, with commissioning broadcasters ICI TV, SRC Radio-Canada, TFO, and Oznoz.
Known for its heartfelt “sister stories” featuring 16 Hudson resident Lili and her younger sister Lola, the series celebrates sisterhood, friendship, family, and Persian culture with colourful characters such as Kensington, Khaleh Shaheen, and Lili’s parents, Maman and Papa.
“Lili & Lola”, creator and director Shabnam Rezaei shared, “This will be a special new season with some holiday fun planned for our sisters and their extended family. We can’t reveal anything yet, but it might be a bit of scary fun!” Returning for the new season are Supervising Director Eddie Soriano, Producer Paddy Gillen, and Executive Producer Aly Jetha.

Stemming from the universe of “16 Hudson” –recipient of two Canadian Screen Awards for Best Writing, eight Telly Awards, and a Youth Media Alliance Award of Excellence–, “Lili & Lola” has also had tremendous success, alongside fellow spin-offs ABC With Kenny G and 16 Hudson ER. The cast of celebrity voices bringing the series to life includes Samira Mohyeddin, Banafsheh Taherian, Maz Jobrani, Sholly Zomorodi (Fox 5 Morning News), Andrea Libman (“Strawberry Shortcake”), Vincent Tong (“The Bad Guys”), and Maryke Hendrikse (“Polly Pocket”).
Season 4 of “Lili & Lola”, which is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 on SRC Radio- Canada and Oznoz, with ICI TV and TFO to follow in early spring, introduces young viewers to engaging and culturally rich storylines, including a chess tournament, a playdate mishap, and the Persian holiday of Yalda. Meanwhile, 16 Hudson season 4 is already airing every Saturday on TVOKids and SRC Radio-Canada. The series will also debut on Knowledge Kids on February 2, 2026, and shortly thereafter on ICI TV, TFO, Oznoz, and Amazon Prime.

A recipient of multiple Leo Awards, as well as Kidscreen and Pixie Gold Awards, Lili & Lola has also received numerous nominations, including a MIPCOM Diversify TV Excellence Award in Cannes, placing the series in front of an international audience. The preschool show has been praised for its meaningful celebration of Iranian culture and history.
In addition to its commissioning partners, “Lili & Lola” airs on Vme Kids, Prime Video, YouTube Kids, and in multiple languages including Persian, English, Spanish, and French on Oznoz.
