Big Bad Boo Studios announces the expansion of its Oznoz team with the appointment of Jay Silverman, who is overseeing acquisitions for the multilingual children’s OTT platform, in New York. Jay joins Big Bad Boo with over 10 years of experience managing platforms in children’s media and public television.
Aly Jetha, CEO and co-Founder said “we’re excited to have Jay join the Big Bad Boo team. Jay understands the Oznoz proposition, which is to bring multi-lingual, trusted content to families in a safe, ad-free environment. We are aggressive this year about continuing our content acquisition and library offering to continue to serve our audience in the United States and Canada.”
Big Bad Boo’s Oznoz SVOD platform has an extensive library with a focus on preschool kids offering content in 10 languages. The Oznoz library includes shows from anchor brands such as the Jim Henson Company, Boat Rocker, and Sinking Ship Entertainment. Titles include “Sid the Science Kid”, “Thomas & Friends”, “Super Why!”, “Barney & Friends”, and many others. Top languages on the SVOD are English, French, Spanish, Persian, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic and German.
“I’ve admired Big Bad Boo’s commitment to making every child and family feel respected and self-assured for years now. I’m thrilled and privileged to work on an inclusive, multicultural, multilingual platform like Oznoz that is looking to expand and grow in the coming year,” said Silverman.
Oznoz was founded in 2010 by Big Bad Boo’s Aly Jetha and Shabnam Rezaei as an online shop with physical products like books and DVDs in Persian, to provide multilingual resources to families, including their own daughters, who are trilingual. Over the years, the platform has gone digital with all its cartoons and continued to expand the library, the language selection, and age to cater to a wider audience. The Oznoz apps and website offer content for download or streaming.
