G: Green Production Practices

At Big Bad Boo Studios, our commitment to environmental sustainability is exemplified through our Green Production Practices. Embracing a digital-first approach in our animation pipelines, led by our Animation Director Eddie Soriano, we have streamlined our processes, reducing the need for traditional in-person film shoots and heavy equipment. Our innovative Digital Asset Tracker System (DATS) not only enhances efficiency but also minimizes our carbon footprint, showcasing our dedication to greener production methods.

R: Renewable Energy

Renewable Energy powers our vision for a sustainable future. Big Bad Boo Studios is actively transitioning towards renewable energy sources to fuel our studios. By embracing cleaner energy alternatives, we aim to significantly reduce our reliance on non-renewable resources, contributing to a greener and more sustainable entertainment industry.

E: Eco-friendly & Educational Content

Eco-friendly & Educational Content is at the heart of our creative endeavors. We consciously develop and produce entertaining stories that raise awareness of global environmental issues among our young audience. Through projects like “1001 Nights,” “16 Hudson,” and the upcoming “Galapagos X,” we engage children with themes of recycling, reusing, and conservation, fostering a generation of environmentally conscious global citizens.

E: Efficient Workspaces

Efficient Workspaces are essential in our commitment to sustainability. Whether working remotely or in our physical offices, we prioritize reducing our environmental impact. From flexible working arrangements that cut down on commuting to mandating eco-friendly practices within our offices, we create spaces that align with our green ethos, promoting sustainability in every aspect of our daily operations.

N: Nature-Inspired Animation Pipelines

Nature-Inspired Animation Pipelines define our dedication to environmentally responsible practices. With our DATS system, we not only ensure smoother animation processes but also strive to eliminate repeated work, promoting a culture of efficiency and reuse. Our Animation Director Eddie Soriano, with his mastery of technology, continually explores new ways to enhance our animation pipelines with a focus on sustainability.

C: Certification & Training for Green Practices

Certification & Training for Green Practices are integral to our commitment. Our Vienna office undergoes annual reviews aligned with the Green Filming Rules (GFR) from the Austrian Film Institute, earning us a 5% bonus and enhancing our credibility. Regular training sessions, such as the “Reel Green Sustainable Production Training,” empower our team members with the knowledge and skills to adopt and promote sustainable practices in every aspect of our productions.

A: Advocacy for Environmental Awareness

Advocacy for Environmental Awareness permeates our content and partnerships. Through collaborations with organizations like TVOKids, Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC), and UNICEF, we actively advocate for healthier habits for the earth. Balancing entertainment with education, we utilize our platform to inspire positive change, educating audiences on issues ranging from ocean protection to pollution prevention.

P: Production Partners Like Us

Everything we do will be socially responsible and sustainable to preserve a liveable environment; this includes our selection of partners in production, precisely because production can take a toll on our climate. For this reason, we carefully hand-pick our partnership and ensure that our partners have the same mission and vision, when it comes to green production guidelines. We have a rule that before engaging a partner, we will conduct a “green session” to compare notes and help each other improve the other companies’ green plan.

At Big Bad Boo Studios, the GREENCAP commitment is not just a statement; it’s a pledge to weave sustainability into the very fabric of our creative and operational endeavors. Join us on this exciting journey towards a greener and brighter future!
