Vancouver-based Big Bad Boo Studios is prepping a five-episode fourth season of 2D-animated preschool toon Lili & Lola (pictured) that’s due out next year.
Canada’s ICI TV commissioned the new installment of the seven-minute miniseries. All 15 episodes from the first three seasons are also available on TFO, Prime Video, Vme Kids, Radio-Canada Jeunesse, YouTube Kids and on the multilingual streamer Oznoz (in Persian, English, Spanish and French).
Lili & Lola originally premiered in 2015 and follows a pair of Iranian-Canadian sisters and their family as they celebrate festivals in their large multicultural city. The show spotlights Persian culture as well as other educational elements focused on literacy and social-emotional learning.
Shabnam Rezaei—Big Bad Boo’s co-founder and Lili & Lola‘s creator—will direct the series, while Arezou Amin and Nedda Sarshar have joined as writers. Meanwhile, supervising director Eddie Soriano, producer Paddy Gillen and EP Aly Jetha have returned for the new season.
